An Artsy blog created by an art teacher who loves the childhood memory and joyful practice of spinning wildly in a circle in order to become dizzy, and the belief that all things in life are connected in a circular way. Italian SPINones, a dog breed that's been around since 500 B.C. also comes to mind.

OGT Enrichment: Constructing An Image
During the 7 weeks before my school's OGT testing, once a week students attended various one-period classes on Wednesdays, at the end of the school day. The Art Department decided to team together and provide all juniors and seniors an experience where they would be required to use the four "C's of 21st Century Skills: Creativity, Collaboration, Cooperation, and Communication. Senior, Matt Moore produced this video assembling their final "products": lighted torn paper sculptures. Each one started as a series of torn paper objects created individually. From those, students created one construction. Then students moved places and manipulated the construction in front of them. Finally, students worked together at their tables to produce one pleasing, and mutually agreed upon paper construction. Students then lighted their works, and took photos of them from various angles and points of view with their cell phones. Enjoy!
